What makes a prop firm 'good'
Before looking at prices, define what matters to you. A prop firm that's good for a scalper can be bad for an intraday swing trader. These are the criteria that actually move the needle:
- Drawdown type: trailing vs end-of-day changes your room to maneuver every day.
- Profit target and minimum days: how much you must make and over how many sessions.
- Consistency rule: how much your best day can weigh on the total.
- Payout policy: how often and under what conditions you can withdraw.
- Total cost: evaluation price + resets + possible activation fees.
- Platforms and data: that it supports the platform you already trade comfortably with.
